UP NISMED Conducts First Institute-Wide Online Training Program

Booting up the offering of online courses during the time when the web technology was just entering the mainstream, UP NISMED has powered it even more this time by running 11 courses simultaneously in its first-ever Institute-wide online training program. With the collective aim to enhance public elementary and secondary science and mathematics teachers’ skills in using appropriate teaching-learning methods and in analyzing and improving curriculum resources, the online training program was successfully conducted to the science and mathematics teachers and instructional leaders of the DepED Division of City Schools Navotas as its first batch. A total of 240 participants logged in to their respective online courses scheduled within 9-24 August 2021. The number of participants (n) and the number of hours per course are as follows.

This online training program titled, Training for Science and Mathematics Teachers and Instructional Leaders in Public Elementary and Secondary Schools, is Track 2 of the Capability Enhancement Program implemented by the University of the Philippines Diliman. Track 1 is a Training for Members of Local School Boards conducted by the UP National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG). This two-track capability enhancement program was granted an allocation in the General Appropriations Act 2020 through the office of Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. The second batch of the training program is scheduled in October 2021 and will be participated by selected schools divisions nationwide.
