Teresita R. Mañalac, 69

On February 3, 2019, we have lost a dear and valued colleague, Dr. Teresita R. Mañalac. Dr. Tita, as we fondly call her, was a member of the Elementary School Mathematics (ESM) workgroup from 1996 until 2014. She had also been the Chair of the ESM group from 2007 to 2009 and 2012 to 2014.

All those years that she was at UP NISMED, Dr. Tita demonstrated remarkable dedication. Even under pressure, she would show that glowing smile and maintain a cheerful outlook, which made us feel that everything would be alright. Soft-spoken, she was always diplomatic in dealing with different people.

To us, her colleagues, Dr. Tita was a good friend, a helpful mentor, and a perfect travel-buddy. To her nephews and nieces, she was caring and loving, so much so that they treated her like their own mother.

Dr. Tita indeed lived life to the fullest. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, former students, and colleagues.
