UP NISMED honored Santiago “Santi” Silleza in a small and simple retirement program for his 38 years of dedicated service to the Institute. Held early on 22 October 2018 at the Director’s Office, this special event was attended by his co-workers, NISMED director and deputy directors, and retired former deputy director, Dr. Risa L. Reyes. Director Aida I. Yap presented him a plaque of appreciation and a photobook. Colleagues showered him with well wishes and gifts for his retirement. Like what he said, he can now enjoy long vacations at his hometown in Abuyog, Leyte.
Santi joined the Institute in 1980 as a member of the General Services, serving as the official driver of UP NISMED. He was also assigned at the Maintenance and Equipment Development Section for a short period.
