UNICEF Philippines and UP NISMED Turn Over Digital Science and Mathematics Stories and Apps to Angeles City Schools

UNICEF Philippines in collaboration with the University of the Philippines National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (UP NISMED), turned over 56 units of tablets, pre-loaded with digital science and mathematics stories and apps, to the Schools Division Office of Angeles City on 18 April 2024. Funded by The People of Japan, through UNICEF Philippines, the project aims to develop digital science and mathematics stories and apps to provide early young learners with quality and accessible learning resources. UP NISMED developed the original digital stories provided. These stories are published in accessible format such that they can be used also by visually impaired learners in the Division. Designed to develop the foundational knowledge and skills in science and mathematics, the digital stories also promote the development of socio-emotional learning among young learners.

Mr. Nicholas Tenazas, Education Specialist of UNICEF Philippines, hands over the tablets to the learners representing DepEd SDO Angeles City during the turnover ceremony.

The turnover ceremony was held at the Gabaldon Building of DepEd SDO Angeles City, where selected teachers, students, and Division supervisors and staff attended the event.
