Former UP NISMED directors and deputy directors and the current NISMED director, deputy directors, and academic workgroup chairs participate in the roundtable discussion on the Institute’s R & E Agenda.

UP NISMED, through its Knowledge Management, Research, Evaluation, and Learning (KMREL) Ad Hoc Committee, organized a roundtable on its Research and Extension (R & E) Agenda on 23 March 2022. Present in the roundtable were the former UP NISMED directors and deputy directors and the current NISMED director, deputy directors, and academic workgroup chairs. The roundtable aimed to consult former and current UP NISMED leaders regarding the proposed R & E Agenda which will steer the direction of UP NISMED’s research and extension initiatives for the next three years (2022-2024). Prior to this occasion, UP NISMED held a workshop with the different academic workgroups to draft the proposed agenda aligned with the mission and vision of the Institute. The proposed R & E agenda was grounded on five core themes namely: (1) Knowledge creation (2) Knowledge transfer (3) Knowledge dissemination (4) Blue sky initiatives and (5) Research-based policy formulation. Following the presentation of the proposed R & E Agenda, a lively discussion ensued in which insights, comments, and suggestions were given for the improvement of the proposed agenda. After the said discussion, a synthesis of the inputs was presented to the group. Based on these inputs, the KMREL committee will then revise and present the agenda to other stakeholders.
