Joe is a Master of Science in Marine Science graduate of UP Diliman and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UP Manila. Prior to joining UP NISMED, Joe was a long-time staff of the Philippine Genome Center - Core Facility for Bioinformatics where he worked on genomics and bioinformatics projects. He also served as research staff in a UPLB-based project looking at glycoproteomics profiles of lung cancer tissues in Filipino patients. Joe is a self-taught programmer, using Python and R for work, and recently, Scratch for teaching coding to his kids. |

Jude earned his bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering and
master’s units in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of the
Philippines – Diliman. As an undergrad, he was an active volunteer in a youth
organization that promotes public understanding of science, technology, and
the environment. During his volunteer years, he found passion in science
education through actively taking part in the organization’s events that aim
to bring out science appreciation, innovation, and leadership by making
science learning fun, enjoyable, and memorable for the youth. He hopes to
inspire, develop, and hone future scientists by serving the youth. Moreover,
Jude is also a former band vocalist and choir member. He loves outdoor
activities such as cycling, roller-skating, and playing sports such as
badminton, table tennis, and volleyball. As an island boy, he also loves
swimming and skin diving. |
