Paper on Teacher Positioning and Student Mathematics Identity Presented in the 4th International Multi-Disciplinary Research Conference

Dr. Allan Canonigo’s paper was awarded as one of the best paper presentations during the conference.

Dr. Allan Canonigo of the High School Mathematics Group presented a paper titled, “Mediating Effects of Problem-Solving Flexibility on Teacher Positioning and Student Mathematics Identity” during the 4th International Multidisciplinary Research Conference. The conference, which was organized by the De La Salle Araneta University, had the theme Resilience, Response, Recovery: Reimagining Sustainability in the Pandemic. It was held online using the MS Teams platform on 21 – 22 January 2022.

Dr. Canonigo’s paper is an offshoot of his dissertation which was awarded most outstanding dissertation during the University of the Philippines College of Education Parangal 2021 with Dr. Ma. Nympha Joaquin as his adviser. During the said conference, Mr. Canonigo’s presentation was awarded as one of the best paper presentations.

The conference provided a platform for the participants to share their expertise, research work and experiences. It also provided a venue for evolving conversations, discussions, and deepening understanding in education in the new normal to make curricula relevant, appropriate, and responsive. It also served as a venue to disseminate fresh evidence of resilience, response, recovery of the different disciplines relevant to planning to overcome challenges and finding opportunities.
