NISMED GAD Committee receives the Gawad Kasarian Natatanging Pagkilala

For more than three years now, the NISMED GAD Committee has been supporting the UP Diliman Gender Office’s (UP DGO) programs. These include regular attendance to GAD-related events such as One Billion Rising, Women’s Month, and UP Diliman Pride Month. Even on its humble beginnings and young initiatives in GAD work, the Committee has advocated GAD programs such as the Gender Sensitivity Trainings in cooperation with UP DGO. Also, over the years, it has initiated many GAD-related activities such as film showing of Rainbow Sunset, Free Massage Day for NISMED Staff, Women in Science Online Campaign, curation of movies/films about women, and the creation of women and other gender-related organizations reference list, with the goal of empowering and celebrating women and all genders.

On 30 March 2021, during the very first Gawad Kasarian Awarding Ceremony, the NISMED GAD Committee was awarded the Gawad Kasarian 2021 Natatanging Pagkilala. This award was given in recognition of the Committee’s efforts and dedication to advancing the rights and dignity of all genders and to promoting the GAD programs. The Committee received a plaque and a certificate of recognition.
