Mr. Roderick “Rod” C. Gonzales is the new Laboratory Technician of the Maintenance and Equipment Development Section (MEDS). He officially reported for duty on 16 July 2019 after his 5-year stint at the Crusade Bible Church as regular assistant administrative staff and building maintenance officer. Rod’s interests include exploring computer application softwares as well as repair and maintenance of computer hardware. He also loves reading stories in the Bible.
Mr. Salvador “Jess” B. Barrozo III joined the Audiovisual Group on 17 July 2019 as Administrative Assistant II (Artist-Illustrator II). Jess is a graduate of BS Advertising and Public Relations at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa, Manila.
Before joining UP NISMED, Jess worked for ABS-CBN Sports and Action Channel 23 as video editor/videographer. He also worked as video editor for television shows such as Shema on TV Maria Cable and Loving What You Do on GMA News TV. He also did video editing jobs for TV commercials and online promotion of a resort, books, pet products, and many more.
Jess makes use of his spare time watching video tutorials to update himself on the latest broadcast production techniques. He also watches television shows and films. At other times, he is into basketball, motorcycles, and music. He likes dogs, too.
Ms. Catherine R. Peñaverde and Mr. Gerald M. Espino are the two new additions to the Hostel Services Section. Catherine serves as Administrative Aide IV and Gerald as Administrative Aide VI. Before their official report for duty on 2 December 2019 at UP NISMED, the two have actually been working in UP. Catherine worked as Administrative Aide VI at the UP College of Law while Gerald as Administrative Aide III at the Office of the University Registrar Records Section.
Catherine finished her Information and Communication Technology course at the Pamantasan ng Montalban. Gerald, on the other hand, obtained his bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from Emilio Aguinaldo College.
Family-oriented Catherine loves cooking and baking. Gerald makes sure that his spare time is quality time spent with his family. This, according to Gerald, helps him cope with life’s challenges and instill in his children a feeling of security and confidence.
