Congratulations to 2020 retirees!

Vicente O. Ompod, “Vic” to his UP NISMED family, started working in UP Diliman in 1980. While working, he managed to complete his 2-year Basic Electricity and Air Conditioning course at Samson Institute of Technology. In 1996, Vic was given civil service certifications as Air-con Technician and Electrician under CSC MC #42 s. 1993.

A soft-spoken man, Vic showed his commitment and passion towards work more in action. While doing his job as one of the printing machine operators at the Desktop and Printing Section, Vic also served as Building Administrator for more than 10 years. Vic’s rendering of service with extra mile and with a smile is truly an inspiration for all of us in the government service.

Alejandra B. Patente started at UP NISMED as Research Aide in 1980. Her first workstation was at the Vidal Tan Hall’s front desk until her transfer to the Bookstore of the newly built Science Teacher Training Center in 1990.

Many times Allen, as she is called fondly by colleagues and friends, was seen surrounded by teachers who are interested in acquiring copies of the UP NISMED publications. Her pleasant customer relations and ability to explain the contents of the Institute’s research-based materials, made the teachers to always visit the bookstore for their supplementary teaching resources.

Both Vic and Allen served the University for 40 years.

Cheers to a long and happy retirement! Your UP NISMED family is truly grateful for your services.
