The training program is designed to build the participants’ capability to use the mathematics courseware “Technology Package for Student Learning Empowerment: Mathematics Courseware for Tablet PC” focusing on the concepts covered in the 10 lessons. Among the activities of the training are sharing of the observations and experiences during the pilot testing by the facilitators, exploration of all the lessons by the participants and presentation and critiquing of a Grade I lesson which incorporates the use of the courseware.
The training is part of the project initiated by the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) which aims to contribute to the improvement of mathematics education of the country especially at the elementary level. The lessons in the courseware were developed by the Elementary School Mathematics Group which was digitized by Department of Science and Technology-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI).
